Windows 7 Migration Plan Guide Using Lite Touch Deployment :Part 13 ( Setting APP-V management Server Basic configuration )
we go to the properties of the app-v server and set the default content path
There are tree types of software licensing models that are supported by App-V. These are:
Named user licensing – only named users (users specifically identified in the system) are granted permission to use the application.
Concurrent user licensing – this is where a block of licenses is available to the user pool on a first-come-first-serve basis. For example if a company has purchased 100 concurrent licenses for an application, 100 users can log in, and be assigned a license for the duration of its use. If the 101st person tries to gain access to that application, he or she will be unable to log in.
Unlimited licensing – this is where the system is set up to allow any user with permission to access the server would also have access to that application. One example of where this would be useful is the case in which a company had a set of applications they developed in-house, and deployed them on a App-V system. The applications could be made generally available to all or a subset of users.
next we set the logging to SQL this is super important
Don’t worry in APP-V sizing one 4 G server with SQL Express can handle a lot of users so me make the refresh down to 30 minutes
please don’t use enforced unless you have a good reason to .this will Couse a lot more load on both yourself and the server
Common issues
“The package requested could not be found in the system data store or the files associated with this package could not be found on the server”. “Error code: 4513CDC-1690150A-20000194”
Will above error massage I found its because you change the default location of the content folder ( try to put the sft file inside the original content folder everything will work )
So how to solve this
Just change it in the registry
Setting up the APP-V GPO
First download the Template from
Microsoft Application Virtualization Administrative Template (ADM Template)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=67CDF9D2-7E8E-4D76-A552-FD82DBBFF9BC
Now we create a new GPO Called APP-V (you can name it anything) and we add the template to it
We change the following settings
This is based on the users if you like them to see change or not
But for the troubleshoot purpose I always like to leave it on
